SwarmSpan for developers

Your PC and Mac have work to do together.

Write code on your PC. Check it on your Mac. Bring back the patch, log, or build artifact without emailing yourself files. SwarmSpan connects your paired computers on your local network.

Windows + macOS Direct file handoff Optional agent work through MCP

Windows: $4.99 once. Mac: a separate $4.99 Mac App Store purchase. No subscription. Your coding tools and any model charges are separate.

SwarmSpan connects your development computers

Start with the part of your day that crosses machines.

A bug only happens on the Mac

Send the relevant patch or test file to the Mac, reproduce the problem there, and bring its log back to the PC. Each computer keeps its own checkout.

Your build needs the other OS

Use the machine that has the required SDK and signing tools. Hand back the output when the build finishes. You still configure the tools and authorize signing on that machine.

Your coding agent needs help

With SwarmSpan's MCP connection configured, an agent on one computer can assign work to an available agent on a paired device and inspect its status and returned artifacts.

SwarmSpan moves files and work requests. Git still owns your repository history, and your build tools still run the build.

Your first handoff

Use a throwaway text file before sending a project. You can do this without an AI agent.

  1. Install on both computers. Get the Windows edition below and the Mac edition from the Mac App Store. Open SwarmSpan from the Windows tray and Mac menu bar.
  2. Pair on the same local network. Use the one-time code shown by SwarmSpan. Complete any OS local-network or folder-access prompts you need for this handoff.
  3. Send one file. Save hello-swarmspan.txt with the text Hello from my other computer. Choose “Send files to a device…” in SwarmSpan and select your paired computer. Approve the transfer there if prompted.
  4. Check the result. Open the received file, verify the text, and send a reply file back. A completed transfer and matching contents prove this first handoff worked.

Then give your other agent a small job.

Configure your coding client's SwarmSpan MCP connection and the receiving computer's agent bridge first. Both computers need to be awake and reachable; the receiving agent needs its own tools and credentials.

Start with a read-only job: ask the paired computer's agent to report its OS and installed SDK versions, save a text report in Agent Handoff, and return its path. Inspect the work status and retrieve the file before you count the job as successful.

Download the handoff brief

The brief asks your agent to discover the actual peer and available providers, confirm the scope, and check the returned result. Fill in your own goal and success criteria for the next job.

Receiver permissions and peer trust govern access. Mac App Store sandbox permissions may restrict folders or external tools. SwarmSpan doesn't include Codex, Claude Code, SDKs, signing credentials, or a model subscription.

Get the edition for each computer.

A $4.99 website license activates SwarmSpan on your own Windows PCs. The Mac App Store edition is a separate $4.99 purchase through Apple and needs no key. No subscription.
